Dr. Powell has been married to wife Elaine since 1971 and they have 3 grown children:

Bryan - married to Rachel & grandchildren Bobby & Lucy

Matthew - married to Ginger & granddaughters Madeline & Ella

Ellen - married to David & granddaughter Eve

He and Elaine are members of Church of the Ascension Episcopal Church.

In his spare time Dr Powell enjoys: gardening, landscape and nature photography, cooking, fly fishing, walking with his Cairn Terrier Maggie and driving his ‘54 Chevy Truck.
