Payment Options For the convenience of our for our clients we accept several payment options: cash, check, debit cards, bank draft, Visa, Master Card, & Discover. For routine services, payment is due at the time of service. There is a monthly interest penalty on any balance not paid within 30 days. Our office is a member of the Credit Bureau of Knoxville. For orthodontics, laboratory cases and large restorative cases we offer no-interest, in-office financing for those whose credit history qualifies. We also offer a third party financing plan. Please feel free to discuss any financial concerns with our Office Manager. Insurance We provide you with a walk-out insurance claim form for each pediatric treatment visit. On the back of the form are simple instructions to assist you in filing a claim. Where necessary, pre-treatment estimates are provided. For orthodontic services your form typically has to be filed out only once at the beginning of treatment. The schedule of payment varies from company to company. We will be glad to answer any questions or provide additional information that your insurance carrier may request in order to process a claim, but we cannot accept responsibility for settling a disputed or rejected claim by your carrier. We also cannot accept responsibility for any late payment due to your insurance company. You are responsible for keeping your account current regardless of the schedule of payment your carrier chooses to follow. You should look at dental insurance realistically. Much like your health insurance, dental insurance does not fully pay all dental expense--in fact it usually covers only a portion, and you are responsible for the fee. We will post insurance payments to your account but do not accept assignment of benefits in lieu of payment. We do not belong to any reduced fee networks because our practice is quality driven, not insurance driven. Pretax Benefit Plans If your employer offers this benefit, often part of a âcafeteria plan,â we will work with you to plan and maximize your benefit. These plans are often flexible enough to work well for orthodontics or cosmetic dentistry. Office Policy on Appointments We make every effort to respect your time by meeting our appointments on time. Each procedure we perform has a time value assigned. So when we make an appointment for you we are actually reserving a specific segment of our time just for you or your child. This allows us to give the individual attention you deserve and deliver the high quality treatment that is our goal. We do our very best to stay on schedule and you can help us by being on time for your appointment! We request that you respect our time by giving us 24 hours notice if you must make a change in your appointment so that time will not go wasted. As a courtesy we will overlook the first failed appointment but the second and each subsequent failed appointment may incur a charge to recover the cost of overhead due to time lost. School Appointments Every year when school starts there is a demand for âafter school appointments.â We try to provide as many as possible but, as is the case with all practitioners whose patient population is mainly school age, it is not realistic to think that we can accommodate everyone in two hours of the workday. You will be asked to rotate your appointments so that all patients are treated fairly; thus, necessitating some school-time appointments for everyone. Most of our appointments are short and can be accommodated in a study hall or slack period of the day. We provide school excuses for your convenience. Cell Phones We request that you & your child TURN OFF YOUR CELL PHONES WHILE IN THE TREATMENT & BUSINESS OFFICE AREAS. Phillip B.
